If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels as warm and grounded as it is breathtakingly stylish, let us introduce you to Sara and Nick. Their August wedding at Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont was a true reflection of thoughtful design, heartfelt moments, and the kind of scenery that makes you want to pause and take it all in.

We’re thrilled to share a peek behind the scenes of their beautiful day—and highlight just how magical a mountain wedding can be when every detail is planned with intention.

A Mid-Mountain Ceremony with Soul

Sara and Nick exchanged vows mid-mountain, accessible by chairlift on Mount Ellen. Guests arrived to find chairs arranged in a soft arc facing a floral-adorned arbor (courtesy of Tipsy Tulips), where views of the Mad River Valley delighted guests.

A deeply personal ceremony—officiated by Sara’s brother, Jake, and including heartfelt readings from Nick’s grandfather and Sara’s mother. “I’m a Believer” (yes, the Shrek version), played as the couple celebrated their nuptials, guests laughed and clapped, setting the tone for a joyful evening ahead.

An Intentional, Joyful Reception

After guests headed back down the mountain, they enjoyed a cocktail hour at the Gate House Patio. Once called to join the reception, guests made their way to the Mountain View & Courtyard Room. Finding their seats on Mine & Kindred seating charts, guests made their way to their tables, each named after a Vermont Covered Bridge. Once there, guests found their names on escort cards designed by Mine & Kindredatop white linens and dusty rose napkins—each setting adorned with a bottle of Vermont maple syrup, a nod to the couple’s love of local touches.

Eighteen round tables and one long head table were lit with candlelight, accented with florals moved from the ceremony for an eco-smart, cohesive look. We especially loved the blend of tall tapers and floating candles from Assorted Artistries—an easy way to create layers and texture without overpowering the tables.

Cocktail Hour on the Patio

Before dinner, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the Gate House patio featuring signature drinks (a margarita and an old fashioned). The vibe was relaxed but celebratory—exactly what you want when the mountains are glowing at golden hour.

Thoughtful Details Everywhere You Turned

From a sandwich board style welcome sign adorned with flowers and welcome bags packed with meaningful touches, every inch of Sara and Nick’s wedding was infused with purpose. When Cover Story kicked off, the party didn’t stop.

Desserts from Blue House Bake Shop wrapped up with evening from Blue House Bake Shop. More meaningful touches included a phone guestbook full of well-wishes, and a neon sign that declared the new Mr. and Mrs. Barnier’s love loud and clear.

Designed with Intention—Executed with Ease

Sara and Nick’s celebration is proof that when you pair a stunning location like Sugarbush Resort with an experienced planning team, the result is unforgettable. Their day was packed with meaningful moments, beautiful design, and thoughtful hospitality for every guest.

At Assorted Artistries, we loved working with this couple to bring their vision to life—and we can’t wait to help future couples do the same.
