Some weddings feel like a dream from the very first look to the final dance—and Kelly and Ryan’s wedding at her family’s home, was exactly that. Nestled on the shores of Lake Champlain, this intimate September wedding was the perfect mix of warm family energy, intentional design, and lakeside elegance.
We were honored to work with Kelly and Ryan to bring their vision to life, and we’re excited to share a look behind the scenes of their stunning celebration.
Lake Champlain Ceremony Framed by Trees and Intention
Set against the shoreline of Lake Champlain the couple’s ceremony took place under a deconstructed floral arbor by the incomparable Black Swan Floral Design.
Kelly walked down the aisle to “Patience” while loved ones looked on, seated in an intimate semicircle. Officiated by a close friend, the ceremony was heartfelt and personal, made all the more special by the soft breeze and shimmering lake just beyond the trees.
Lakeside Cocktails & Thoughtful Touches
As guests entered the cocktail hour, they were greeted with a welcome champagne cocktail. White linens draped high top table, making the most of the lake view and masking backyard essentials.
A centrally located bar featured a curated wine and beer selection with personalized signage and thoughtful styling. Guests mingled, enjoyed seasonal bites, and admired the scenery as dusk settled over the water.
A Clear Tent Under the Stars
Under a clear frame tent strung with warm lighting, a cozy glow fell over guests at the reception as night fell. Under the tent, farmhouse tables with antique gauze and amethyst draped round tables greeted guests. Styled with delicate florals by Black Swan Floral Design, and candlelight in every direction. Each table featured clear chargers with gold bead details, paired with elegant flatware and amethyst glassware.
Remember those incredible ceremony arches? They were repurposed to the frame the amethyst inspired cake.
A Tablescape to Swoon Over
Every table was a masterpiece. Farmhouse tables had gauze runners and floral centerpieces complemented by vintage-style candlesticks and chimneys. Round guest tables, covered in fig-colored linens, added a soft texture and depth to the tent’s layout. Votives flickered throughout the space, and each place setting reflected the couple’s intentional and romantic aesthetic.
From the bespoke bar setup to the custom dessert display and audio guestbook table, every element felt tailored and personal.
A Night Full of Music, Dessert, and Love
As the evening unfolded with heartfelt toasts, laughter, and dancing under the stars. Guests enjoyed seasonal desserts from Fancy Cake Box and coffee service arranged by Fork & Knife Catering. Later in the night, mini Michigans were served as a nod to local favorites—because no North Country celebration is complete without them.
With a DJ from Pure Sound and a packed dance floor, the celebration was a joyful, emotional, unforgettable close to a picture-perfect day.
Designed With Love, Planned With Purpose
Kelly and Ryan’s wedding wasn’t just beautiful—it was meaningful. The couple ended the night under the stars, talking of their future and growing family.
